Demonstrating steadfast dedication to uplifting underserved communities, Globe's corporate venture builder, 917Ventures, marked its fourth anniversary with a meaningful celebration at San Joaquin Elementary School in Pasig City, as they helped gear up the school for the new academic year.
This project, aptly named “4tifying the Future,” stands as a testament to 917Ventures' dedication to enhancing the lives of Filipinos and strengthening the foundation of communities for the future.
In partnership with the school's leadership, teachers, and dedicated employee volunteers, 917Ventures held the event in collaboration with Brigada Eskwela 2023 and the Globe-led Hapag Movement to make a lasting impact on the school and boost the fight against involuntary hunger.
During the activity, 917Ventures employee volunteers transformed classrooms by repainting blackboards, chairs, shelves, and walls, bringing new life and color to the learning spaces and highlighting the profound impact of collective effort and collaboration in elevating educational environments.
“We believe in the transformative power of education. We’ve been dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students through our edutech solutions, and we also wanted to help to enhance the physical surroundings of San Joaquin Elementary School and create an inspiring atmosphere where students can thrive and learn,” said Glenn Estrella, 917Ventures Head of Ideation and Acceleration.
Likewise, to combat hunger and promote well-being, 917Ventures partnered with Scholars of Sustenance Philippines, an organization with a mission to reduce food waste and address hunger challenges. As part of Globe’s Hapag Movement, the 917Ventures volunteers prepared and served nourishing meals to the school’s “Tara Basa” and “National Learning Camp (NLC)” participants.
Vince Yamat, 917Ventures Managing Director, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, saying: “Our partnership with Scholars of Sustenance Philippines to bring the Hapag Movement’s supplemental feeding program to the San Joaquin Elementary School aligns perfectly with our goal of fostering sustainable change. Through the program, we intend to contribute to a future where no one goes hungry.”
While the event celebrated 917Ventures' milestone anniversary, it also underscored the company's commitment to social responsibility. The “4tifying the Future” program encapsulates its unwavering dedication to forging a brighter and more prosperous future.
