ST Telemedia Global Data Centres Philippines (STT GDC) has proudly announced that the STT Cavite 1 data center has earned the prestigious Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Design Documents (TCDD).
This achievement represents a significant advancement in the Philippines’ technological capabilities within the global digital infrastructure arena. It also highlights the company’s dedication to providing top-tier data center infrastructure, further cementing its path towards industry leadership.
The TIER III certification is a rigorous evaluation of a data center’s design and construction. Unlike TIER I and TIER II, a data center with Uptime TIER III Constructed Facility Certification ensures no shutdowns during maintenance or replacement.
This certification offers assurance that the critical infrastructure’s resilience level has been on-site validated to meet the Uptime Institute’s stringent requirements, making it an optimal choice for organizations with mission-critical applications and high uptime demands.
"Securing the Uptime Institute’s TCCF certification for STT Cavite 1 is a significant accomplishment for us in the Philippines, demonstrating our country’s expanding proficiency in the data center sector,” stated Carlo Malana, President and CEO of STT GDC Philippines.
The design of STT Cavite 1 was spearheaded by Pierre Albert San Diego, head of construction and design at STT GDC Philippines and the country’s inaugural Accredited Tier Designer of Uptime Institute in 2015.
"This achievement showcases the team’s capacity to adhere to world-class standards. I am honored to have contributed alongside our exceptional team. STT Cavite 1 is dedicated to continuous innovation, and we are excited about pushing the envelope in future projects,” expressed San Diego.
The certification was recently presented to STT GDC Philippines at its headquarters in Makati City, with Malana, San Diego, and Patrick Chan, Vice President, Asia of Uptime Institute, in attendance.
"We are delighted to present STT Cavite 1 with the Tier III Certification of Design Documents, the initial step towards the crucial Tier Certification of Constructed Facility award. This Certification embodies STT GDC’s commitment to global standards, commencing with the initial set of design documents criteria established by Uptime Institute,” Chan commented.
STT GDC Philippines, an emerging provider of carrier-neutral data center solutions in the country, persists in expanding its data center footprint, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing the region’s digital infrastructure through cutting-edge, hyperscale-ready facilities.
Currently under development is STT Cavite 2, a two-story structure spanning over 4,500 square meters, engineered to provide up to 6 megawatts of total IT capacity.
Also under construction is the STT Fairview data center campus, envisioned to become the largest, most interconnected, carrier-neutral, and sustainable data center in the Philippines. The facility spans over 83,000 square meters across four buildings, with the potential to deliver 124 megawatts of IT load capacity upon full completion.
