SUPERSTAR Cher has dazzled audiences with her stunning performance for the anniversary of SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.

The 78-year-old icon sent shockwaves through the crowds as she joined the A-list lineup of celebrities there to honour the 50th anniversary of the NBC variety show.

The musical genius looked incredible in a see-through bodysuit as she performed her infamous 1989 music video hit, If I Could Turn Back Time.

Rocking thigh-high boots and a leather jacket, the superstar showed off her toned figure and leggy physique at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

She was joined by stars including Miley Cyrus, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, The Roots, Arcade Fire and Backstreet Boys, as well as SNL's Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph.

The glittering three-hour show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, is due to air on NBC and Peacock on Sunday, February 16.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels told Emmy magazine recently: "I've been forced to believe it's the 50th season because I was there for most of it, but we still take it one week at a time.

"The great part of doing the show is that whatever happened last week, you're onto this week. We're always looking for what's fresh. Life is all about reinvention."

The singer is in a relationship with 39-year-old record executive Alexander 'AE' Edwards.

The Strong Enough star previously said about the age gap: "I would rather date men from later generations, who 'were raised by women like me' and were therefore never scared of me."

She added: "And the reason I got with young men is because men my age or older – well, now they're all dead. But before they just never, they were always terrified to approach me."

Last year, the American superstar entered into "meaningful discussions" about playing the coveted Sunday afternoon "legend's slot" at Glastonbury for its 60th anniversary.

It would be the Believe singer's first time ever playing at Worthy Farm — even though she has been making music since before the event even started.

Cher, who is worth $346£275million – is believed to have turned down offers in the past due to disagreements over her fee.

If she does sign up, the show will coincide with the 60th anniversary of her music career, and the second instalment of Cher's memoir which is expected to come out next year, following part one this November.

It will also follow her 21-track greatest hits record Forever, and her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Shania Twain performed in the legend's slot in June, while previous big names include Kylie MinogueDolly PartonLionel Richie and Diana Ross.
