KATE Beckinsale has returned to Instagram a month after quitting to ask fans to pray for her mum, who is battling stage 4 cancer.
Actress Kate, 51, described her mother Judy as "extraordinary" and a "warrior" as she shared an emotional post yesterday alongside a series of photos and videos.

She wrote: "I wasn't going to come back to Instagram but anyone who has a spare prayer or magic or miracle or sunbeam please send it to my mama, my most extraordinary, warrior, generous, humble, loving, unique, irreplaceable Mama.
"Thank you -Lord, keep her safe this night, secure from all her fears, may angels guard her while she sleeps till morning.light appears, amen."
Kate first revealed her mother's diagnosis last year, shortly after the death of her stepfather, director Roy Battersby, who passed away in January following a massive stroke.
The Underworld star revealed waves of support from her famous friends and fans, alike.
Helena Christensen commented: "Praying for your gorgeous mother."
David Furnish added: "Sending love and prayers," while Suki Waterhouse inserted a heart emoji.
Her return to Instagram comes after she wiped her grid last month, following cruel comments from trolls about her weight.
Last year, Porridge star Richard Beckinsale's daughter spent several weeks in hospital with a stress-related tear in her oesophagus, which developed after the death of her stepfather and mother's diagnosis.
Speaking in July, she shared how she was coping, saying: "I just think people go through things in their life and we all face difficulties and I've been quite transparent about mine.
"I've just been mainly dealing with my mother and she's doing OK."
At the time, Kate addressed speculation about her weight loss, explaining that it was the result of stress and grief rather than any deliberate effort to lose weight.
Responding to negative comments about her appearance, she hit back at trolls, saying: "No, actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief…
"Quite quickly, and then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus, which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard…
"And I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father, so I'm not really concerned about what you think about my a**.
"Maybe you should worry about your own f*ing a. I suggest shoving something up it, like a large pineapple or a brick."
Her stepfather Roy Battersby, who was married to Judy for 18 years, had been diagnosed with two forms of cancer before his death. Following his passing, Kate revealed that her mother had also received her diagnosis.
Over the past year, Kate had been caring for both her mother and late stepfather, having flown them out from the UK to stay with her in Los Angeles.
A source previously told the Daily Mail: "Kate has been caring for her parents, who both have serious illnesses, for most of the year."
Despite her diagnosis, Judy has remained strong, with another insider adding: "She's extraordinary, you wouldn't even know by looking at her. She has been keeping a very positive attitude throughout everything."
Kate has continued to share glimpses of her mother's journey. Last year, in a Mother's Day post, she shared photos of Judy enjoying cake and champagne, along with images of herself in hospital and her beloved dogs.
She wrote: "Happy birthday and UK Mother's Day this last week to my incredible mother. Thank you to those that love us and support us when it's s**t and try to make sure there are some bits that aren't.

Kate's biological father, Richard Beckinsale, was best known for his roles in Porridge and Rising Damp. He tragically died of a heart attack in his sleep in 1979 at the age of 31.
Roy Battersby, Kate's stepfather, was a celebrated director, known for his work on Inspector Morse, Cracker, and A Touch of Frost. He was cremated on February 19 at Mortlake Crematorium near Kew, West London.
Kate shared an image of his order of service, which included a heartfelt message thanking family and friends for their support.
The emotional strain of the past year has taken its toll on the actress, with sources saying she has been struggling with grief.
One insider shared: "She was spotted this week several times crying in the corridors of UCLA hospital. Her friends are very concerned that she has been under relentless strain for months and hardly sleeping or eating.
"Kate appears to be very strong, but this has been incredibly hard and, given that she lost her father so young, is affecting her very deeply. Her friends are concerned for her own health."
