She wrote: "Ten years of love, joy, laughter and adventure, @mattrichardson3 is now my finance."

The pair were congratulated by famous pals like Laura Whitmore, Daisy Lowe, Vicky Pattison and Iain Stirling.

Matt, 33, appeared to pop the question as the sun set on the five-star Inverlochy Castle Hotel in Scotland.

The couple, who were both dressed smartly for the occasion, toasted the engagement with flutes of fizz.

Sam, who recently graduated with a BA in Arts and Humanities specialising in Philosophy and Religion, is Matt's biggest fan and often posts supportive messages on social media from his comedy gigs.

While Matt champions model Sam, 30, just as much and previously admitted he couldn't believe she was his partner.

He told us: "As if I'm subtle about having a girlfriend who is a supermodel. When I've had a few drinks in the pub, I go, 'Look, that's her in that advert!' It's brilliant."

Sam has walked the catwalk dozens of times for high fashion brands like Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs.

Matt continued: "For years, when I started doing comedy, I worked in Next for a really, really long time. And then, I kind of went away, kind of did comedy, got on telly, whatever.

"And then, Sam, a couple of years ago, was the Next girl. She was on the front of the book. And you'd go into Next, and there would be huge pictures of her all around Next.

"And I was back in my hometown in the Next I worked in and they're like, 'Oh my god mate, haven't seen you for years, how's life?'

"And, like an a***hole, I went, 'Yes it's alright, I live with her now,' pointing at the picture.

"What a d***head, but there we go. But because everyone is so English, they were just like 'Oh yeah… you're an a***hole.'

"But it is really cool because she is super successful, which I'm grateful for because she's been supporting both of us for the last twelve months."

Back in 2013 Matt co-hosted X Factor spin-off the Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack.

He went on to host the drivetime show on Virgin Radio and launch a podcast with Busted's Matt Willis called When No One's Watching.

In 2021 he found himself on the reserve skating list for Dancing On Ice and eventually made it onto the show to partner pro skater Vicky Ogden after Rufus Hound pulled out with coronavirus.

At the time, Matt admitted he was contemplating quitting showbiz altogether.

He said: "I was looking at a career change or to just leave the industry altogether, because it's tough times.

"I am of a level where I'm on TV, but I'm not a big, huge name. It's not like I've got stacks of cash lying around. I am currently skint because I've not worked a year."
