OASIS are going on tour, Manchester City are struggling and Kate Moss is reportedly back on the booze – it's like the Nineties all over again.

And it's her fondness of those heady Cool Britannia days which has sparked the supermodel's desire to turn back the clock and embrace her wild side, following a much-needed 'sabbatical' during her romance with teetotal ex, Count Nikolai von Bismarck.

Their nine-year romance ended in December, and an insider told The Sun: "Kate feels like she's had a well-earned break from her partying days and recharged her batteries.

"Since splitting from Nikolai, she's realised that debauched and hedonistic era is part of her identity, so she's keen to dip her toes back into that world.

"Whether she can hit it as hard as she did in the Nineties remains to be seen, but she's going to have fun trying, that's for sure."

The first signs of the second incarnation of "Kate Mess" occurred last month during the Isabel Marant show at Paris Fashion Week.

Sitting front row alongside David Sims, 58, a longterm collaborator who has worked with her since the Nineties, Kate appeared agitated and on edge as she rocked back and forth on her seat before turning on her notorious model switch and posing up for snappers.

The footage was shared far and wide, triggering concern from fans, some of whom joked her behaviour sparked their own bouts of anxiety given how frantic she looked.

Weeks later, she was snapped walking down a street in London puffing away on a cigarette while holding an open bottle of beer– a signature look back in her partying days.

Kate's return to her wild ways has coincided with her daughter Lila – whom she shares with former partner Jefferson Hack – turning 21 and according to close pals, she felt excited about the prospect of reliving her youth alongside her offspring, now a fellow model.

The insider explained: "Kate is incredibly close to Lila and they're now at an age where they can socialise together.

"Obviously Kate is protective, she'll ensure Lila never gets into trouble, and she's taken on a mentor role she didn't really have."

Lila attended Kate's 51st birthday bash in January held at
at China Tang at The Dorchester, before moving onto another showbiz hotspot, The Globe in Notting Hill.

Famous pals including actress Jaime Winstone, football agent Dave Gardner, make-up mogul Charlotte Tilbury, Jade Jagger and Stella McCartney were also on the guest-list.

Kate was snapped holding what appeared to be a Martini and it's believed she orchestrated the boozy event to make up for what was a fairly sombre 50th, by her standards, which involved a meal in Paris towards the end of her relationship with Nikolai.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Kate is throwing a birthday party in London on her birthday, January 16, and is inviting all of her favourite people.

"Last year, she celebrated her 50th at an intimate soiree in Paris, which was fairly pared down.

"But a lot has changed since then and Kate has said she wants this party to be like turning over a new leaf.

"Now that her daughter Lila is all grown up and she is single again, Kate feels like she wants to let her hair down and be carefree — which is not something she's been able to do for a long time.

"She is looking on the bright side of life. Although it's sad her relationship is over, she is throwing herself back into her social life and embracing the new year."

Although Kate's comeback on the London party circuit has been largely celebrated, there's also obvious reason for concern.

After all, the Croydon-born star has endured several stints in rehab, the first back in 1998, after her drug and alcohol consumption became "too much".

She earned the nickname "Wagon" due to her ability to put away booze, something she did regularly to lift the boredom of being on set.

Speaking in a rare interview with Face magazine the year after her first trip to rehab, Kate claimed she was drunk every day for ten years, mainly due to her love of Champagne.

She said: "Things got out of control.

"That's what you do. You just kind of have champagne.

"You always have champagne before shows. Always. Even at 10 in the morning.

"It got to the point one time when we said, 'We're not going out without any champagne.' Terrible."

Her high-profile romances with notorious caners including actor Johnny Depp (1994-1998) and Libertines frontman Pete Doherty (2005-2007) only accelerated her wild antics.

Her first husband, rocker Jamie Hince – who she married in 2011 before splitting five years later – was hardly a wallflower either.

Kate's surprise relationship with Nikolai, a descendant of the German aristocratic family and 13 years her junior, appeared to be the change of pace she desperately needed.

Indeed, she seemed to happy swapping the bright lights of London with the sleepy villages of the Cotswolds, where the pair resided.

In 2022, during another rare interview – this time with Vanity Fair – she said: "My favourite moments are when all the family are sitting down together having lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the country."

Kate got so into her newfound wholesome lifestyle she even launched her own luxury wellness brand called Cosmoss, which has a "strong focus on holistic self care and mindful beauty."

But after nearly a decade together, Kate called time on the relationship with Nikolai in December.

And, apparently, her health regime followed him out of the door as she embarks on a Nineties-style comeback – just like her old pals Liam and Noel Gallagher.

It's all part of her Masterplan.
