KATHERINE Ryan has made an explosive claim about a male comedian allegedly showing sex tapes of himself to fellow performers at a gig – leaving one star shaken moments before she went on stage.

Speaking on the NipTuck podcast, the outspoken comic detailed a disturbing incident she witnessed earlier in her career.

Though careful not to name the man, she described him as "very rich," "very powerful," and "very famous" – adding that he was "not British".

She recounted being one of three women on a mixed-bill show when she saw the unnamed comic brazenly showing explicit videos on his phone to a group of men, including intimate footage of himself with a woman.

Katherine told NipTuckPod hosts Ashley Stobart and Lauren Elizabeth Adamson: "I was one of the few women on that bill, maybe three women.

"And there was a young female comedian who was starting out, who was next to him, and he was with all the lads, showing pictures and videos on his phone that he had taken of himself having sex with women.

"So, like, really intimate photos, intimate videos, next to the woman … showing her."

A stunned Ashley suggested: "That's kind of like exposing yourself?"

To which Katherine replied: "Like yeah, his penis was in a lot of these videos."

She said the young women looked visibly uncomfortable and came to her dressing room, disturbed by what she'd seen, before she was due to go on stage.

Katherine continued: "She felt very uncomfortable about that. She's very new. I was even quite new at that time."

Katherine said female comedians continue to face danger and double standards in the industry.

She went on: "In every green room, every dressing room, there are things we can't do that the boys can do.

"We can't sleep on the floor with like, four other comedians starting out a lot of times.

"We have children that we have to look after, and then we get fans who, like, could kill us.

"Nikki Glaser, who's doing amazing in America and is hosting the Golden Globes for the second year in a row, she would make a joke of it on her Instagram.

"She'd be like, come kill me in Cincinnati at 7pm come kill me in San Diego.

"I'll be here at 8pm we have to publish where we are at night, and we're always alone. It's a bit different."

The 8 Out of 10 Cats regular hasn't shied away from what she's encountered as a female comic.

In 2023 it was claimed Katherine was referring to Russell Brand when she slammed the infamous behaviour of a male comedian.

Comedian and actor Brand, 49, has since been charged with rape and sexual assault, and is now facing three more complaints from other women.

He has denied all allegations and will fly back from Florida — where he now lives with his wife — to appear before Westminster magistrates on May 2.
