The Sun's exclusive video captures the aftermath of the spat between the Baba O'Riley hitmakers and after Roger turned on Zak and told him to restart a song.

Pete Townshend, 79, wearing his signature hat, could be seen intervening as he discussed the situation with Roger during a break in the setlist.

Not long afterwards, The Who released a statement and said that they had parted ways with Zak, who has been their drummer since their Quadropenia tour in 1996.

A spokesperson for The Who revealed that Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend sacked their former bandmate and read: "The band made a collective decision to part ways with Zak after this round of shows at the Royal Albert Hall.

"They have nothing but admiration for him and wish him the very best for his future."

Meanwhile, a source was quick to tell The Sun about the simmering feud between Roger and Zak, who is the son of legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.

They said: "They are proper rock n roll stars and recently, things haven't been smooth between them.

"For now they've decided to call it quits and walk away on a high, rather than let it become a full blown feud like Noel and Liam Gallagher which rumbled on for years."

Different sources claim there were some questions raised over Zak's drumming at the March shows, which were in honour of Roger's Teenage Cancer Trust charity.

While fans seemed to be thrilled with the band's shows at the iconic venue, insiders claim there were a "few issues with the drumming… and the standard wasn't as high as everyone wanted."

An insider then told The Mirror: "It's a little acrimonious to say the least."

Zak previously hinted at bad blood between the My Generation hitmakers.

Speaking of Roger's tour this summer, he admitted he didn't know if he was involved.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Zak said: "I don't know what's happening this summer yet, it's always up in the air with everybody right now.
